Duo’s One-of-a-kind Boutique
If you are looking for unique, tasteful gifts and/or upscale home decor, we have the perfect one-stop shop for you on Collegeville’s Main Street! Mother-daughter duo Gwen Lepore and Sharon Miller opened their one-of-a-kind boutique home store on March 18, 2022. The store offers a wide range of tasteful home decor items including wall art, accents, accessories, gifts, and more with very reasonable prices. Why shop at a big box store with thousands of look-alike items when you can find the perfect distinctive gift at this Mom and Daughter treasure trove?
It all started when this pair of fearless home renovators bought a fixer-upper house in Royersford. Along with their friend, the three toiled through an entire old home gut renovation. They then painted and decorated the house. To document their progress, they created a social media blog which also offered DIY tips which gained a following.
Amazingly, they enjoyed the renovation and decorating process so much that they decided to expand their passion into a brick-and-mortar store in Red Hill. They wanted to find a store location closer to home and luckily stumbled upon a listing in Collegeville where there would be more customers and foot traffic.
To select their merchandise, Gwen and Sharon closely follow HGTV and trending design topics on social media. They also travel to national home decor shows to see what will be trending in the upcoming seasons and to scout out the newest items for their clients.
Design Services
Although the pair did not train in interior design, they both have an amazing knack for tasteful and well-designed items. And they are currently acting as design consultants to a handful of clients. “We charge $100 for an hour in-home consultation per room to help clients pick out paint colors, look for the perfect lighting, or solve other design challenges,” Gwen says. “My Mom loves selecting colors and inspiring clients.” Although they both personally prefer a modern farmhouse style, “Good style is a blend of all styles,” Gwen says. “We design in all aspects of different styles.”
Gwen explained that while home decor is bought year round; they do sell more around the holidays and in the fall when people shop for seasonal pieces. In their Collegeville store, they are looking for ways to promote our local institutions, such as Ursinus College and our Perkiomen Valley Schools through school-themed decorative items.
For now, the opening hours of G&S Style are limited to only Fridays and Saturdays. They will add more days and hours as we move toward busier shopping seasons.
We hope you will add a note to your calendar to stop by this exceptional small shop to see it for yourself. You are guaranteed to find treasures you can’t live without!
