Dinner & A Show – Theater: God of Carnage / Agnes of God

February 4, 2019

Dinner & A Show - Theater: God of Carnage at Ursinus College

A deliciously inexpensive local evening of dining and the performing arts. Two Ursinus College Theater shows will intertwine over the February 27 to March 2 weekend. Join your Collegeville friends and neighbors for a discounted dinner at select restaurants before the show as part of our Dinner & a Show promotion.

Dinner & A Show - Theater: God of Carnage / Agnes of God at Ursinus College

God of Carnage

Two married couples meet to discuss a playground squabble that had broken out between their sons.  The seemingly civil parents turn hostile toward each other when each couple’s perspective of the truth opposes the other couple’s interpretation. The boys’ small fight is nothing compared to the combative, violent match of their parents. This scathingly funny satire is an examination of our current polarized society.

Written by Yasmina Reza
Directed by Domenick Scudera, professor of theater

Agnes of God

Agnes is a young nun who has secretly given birth. The baby does not survive. Agnes cannot remember the circumstances of conception. A psychiatrist and the convent’s reverend mother try desperately to unravel the truth. Is Agnes an innocent? Has more happened than meets the eye? Faith and science come into focus as the mystery of Agnes’ situation unfolds.
