When local entrepreneur Bayo Ayoade began exploring franchise opportunities in the health and wellness space, he discovered something that immediately resonated with him: Beem Light Sauna, a company that blends modern science with holistic healing in an inviting, spa-like setting.
How It All Started
The company was co-founded in 2021 by Cynthia May from Charlotte, NC when she was looking for alternative and holistic treatments for her daughter, who was suffering from Lyme Disease. Although her daughter had undergone medical treatments since 2016, she was still experiencing symptoms. That’s when May discovered the potential health and healing properties of infrared saunas.
Her company, Beem Light Sauna, focuses on providing private, relaxing, and clean environments where clients can enjoy the therapeutic benefits of infrared sauna, red, green, blue light therapy, as well as full-spectrum chromotherapy.
“When I was evaluating the company I underwent the light therapy myself and I felt the relief right away,” said Bayo.
How Does a Light Sauna Work?

General Manager Jen Burkey oversees the day-to-day running of the Collegeville Beem Light Sauna, which specializes in three distinct services: Infrared Light Therapy, Red Light Therapy, and Advanced Light Therapy. This therapy combines red, green, and blue wavelengths. The sauna’s state-of-the-art wellness studio features nine infrared saunas with Photo Bio Modulation (PBM) panels, all available in private, individual therapy rooms designed for each client’s comfort, relaxation, and peace of mind.

Light therapy saunas are much more comfortable than traditional saunas, which reach air temperatures of 150°F to 195°F. Infrared light saunas use lower temperatures of 120°F to 150°F. The infrared light also directly warms the body, penetrating deeper into the skin to the cellular level, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Light sauna therapies are believed to deliver a host of benefits, including removing toxins, reducing stress, igniting your metabolism (burning up to 600 calories in 40 minutes), relieving pain, boosting immune systems, and relieving skin conditions.
