Born of a Dream

After years of planning, Dayana and Eli Velasquez are finally opening Dana’s Café in the Collegeville Shopping Center. They describe the café on their website as being “born from our dream to create a place where exceptional food meets genuine hospitality. Our mission is to provide our community with quality flavors and warm service in a truly welcoming environment. . . . Whether you’re craving familiar comfort food or eager to explore the rich flavors of Venezuelan cuisine, we’re here to make every meal memorable.”
Following a total gut renovation of the former Cycle Bar, the restaurant is now ready to open on Sept. 11. Dana’s Café is named after their daughter Danna. The café will offer breakfast and lunch seven days a week.
For their 9/11 Grand Opening, Dana’s Café will be giving firefighters, police and EMTs 20 percent off.

“We decided not to serve dinner, because we want to be there for our two kids when they get home from school,” Dayana explains. “I greatly enjoy connecting with people. The goal of Dana’s Café is to provide delicious food while making our customers feel as comfortable as they feel when eating at home.
An Excellent Menu
“We are serving traditional American food, such as pancakes, omelets, eggs and bacon for breakfast, and salads, sandwiches, and soups for lunch, along with heavier options, such as ribeye steak, salmon, and pork. We also provide some Venezuelan options at each meal, including fresh squeezed juice from tropical fruit.
“We hope that Collegeville area residents will feel the love of our family when they eat here,” says Dayana. “Please stop by our cafe, and enjoy both our American and Venezuelan selections!”

When you get a chance, stop by Dana’s Café, enjoy the food, and welcome the Velasquez family to Collegeville Borough!
