Northern Star Farm, Afternoon Delight

October 20, 2015

With fall upon us, there is plenty of family-friendly fun every weekend at Northern Star Farm in historic Trappe PA.  Every weekend in October Northern Star Farm holds its annual Fall Festival.  If you have never been to Northern Star Farm, this is a great time of year to visit this hidden gem, and see all that this farm has to offer.

Northern Star Farm is open every Saturday and Sunday in October, and through 1 November starting at 10 am. Pumpkins, beverages, donuts, and drinks are for sale along with tickets for the L’il Farmer Play Barn.  Kids can also enjoy a ride on Harry the horse.

One realizes that this is no regular farm, but an amusement park without a ferris wheel or a roller coaster.  It’s a different kind of carnival with a slingshot apple machine and an artillery bunker that houses a water bottle, air-cannon machine where one can bet his buddy about what target will be hit.

Perhaps you would like to feed hay to horses Pretty Boy and Thomas as they are stalled awaiting guests.  A few steps away is a new pet, an Alpaca with long eyelashes, Jose, several goats, sheep, and rabbits.   Don’t forget the mini-pot-bellied pig, Maggie May, and all her piggy friends.

As evening approaches, there are bonfire pits available to make s’mores treats in addition to a hayride to the Witch’s House where the Wismer witch will tell you a scary tale.  Bring your flash light after dark to explore a 14-acre corn maze that is simply “aMAZing”.   For groups of 20 or more, the cost is $12 per person for a bonfire, a hayride to the Witch House, and entrance to the corn maze.

It’s not only a farm to bring your family for good wholesome fun outdoors, but a special time to visit with the Wismer farm family who lovingly operates it.  The Wismer family loves sharing their beautiful farm with the community.

The Wismer Farm is located at 96 E 3rd Ave in Trappe, PA.  For more information and reservations call (215) 859-7302.
