La Spa Bliss: Full service Salon and Day Spa

La Spa Bliss

April Jankowski, LE, RMT, Managing Partner

April Jankowski, La Spa BlissApril Jankowski’s career started as a social worker assisting patients and their families in hospice care. Over the years she progressed to management as an Executive Director and then Regional Director. But what she found most rewarding was helping patients and families relax by providing them with hand massages, use of essential oils, and the practice of Reiki, a Japanese treatment using energy that promotes healing and relaxation.

Seven years ago after she met and married the love of her life, and after 20 years in hospice care, she wanted to try something different. She kept her day job, took courses to become a certified aesthetician and Reiki master, and started a skincare business on the side, “Simply Bella Skincare.” After three years, when it became clear that she couldn’t continue in both her hospice and skincare roles, “I decided to take the leap and open my own business in a location close to my home in Collegeville,” April says.

That location was inside Collegeville Station on 50 W. Third Ave., and April’s plan for La Spa Bliss was to offer a smorgasbord of relaxation and beauty services that could be tailored to the needs of clients.

Opening this Saturday, the hair salon is located at Collegeville Station’s main entrance, with the day spa behind near Bonjung Japanese Restaurant.

The hair salon is overseen by a salon manager and four stylists offering cuts, styling, color and conditioning treatments for the whole family. La Spa Bliss is known for its Bliss Signature blowouts, where clients can enjoy the luxury of the businesses’ talented, knowledgeable staff washing, conditioning, treating and blowing out hair styles for them.

The salon also offers make up services for women by this talented team, that includes a MAC-certified artist.

April personally oversees their specialized skin care services including Signature, Vitamin C, Anti-aging and other facials, including “Blissed Out Facial” with microdermabrasion, hand and foot treatments and aromatherapy.

Check out their special massages, including the Bliss Signature Massage, which is a mixture of Swedish and other relaxation techniques; Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Aromatherapy and other massages. And as Reiki master, April offers relaxation and healing treatments that are non-invasive where the client stays fully clothed.

“Additionally we’re also going to be offering special courses, such as $5 meditation lunch breaks to help local employees through their day, Essential Oils, Reiki certification classes and more,” explains April. “I also support our local businesses, including “Lashed Up” next door, which specializes in microblading and eyelash extensions, and we encourage our clients to use the nail services of “French’s Nails” across our main hallway.
