May 28, 2014

Rotary-LogoThe Collegeville Rotary Club is inviting residents from the Collegeville area to submit nominations of outstanding individuals for their 2014 Citizen of the Year Award. This 5th annual award honors a community member who has made a real difference in residences’ lives.

The dinner honoring the recipient will be held at River Crest Golf Club in October, 2014.  Past recipients have included Trappe Mayor Connie Peck, former President of Collegeville Borough Council Arnold Mann, former President of Trappe Borough Council Fred Schuetz, and President of the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) Catherine Kernen.

Please send your nominations, with a description of the work the person has been engaged in and your contact information to [email protected]

Nominations for Teachers of the Year for Perkiomen Valley and Methacton Schools are also being requested by the Collegeville Rotary Club.  The award is open to Middle and High School teachers. The nominations should be made by students in these schools.  Include a 300- to 500-word description of how the teacher goes beyond his or her ‘day-job’ and how he or she has positively influenced students and the school, and send it to [email protected]

Past teachers have included David Overholtzer and Matt Strerenczak from PV, and Susan Cattie from Methacton.
