Collegeville Main Street Tree Lighting Planned

The Collegeville Main Street Program Promotions Committee will host the First Annual Holiday Tree Lighting at 352 East Main Street on Saturday, December 4, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The tree lighting will be followed by a Community Open House at DaVinci's Pub, 291, East Main Street, where all may enjoy complimentary beer and wine from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The lovely 18 foot blue spruce, grown from a sapling and donated by Collegeville resident Peggy Peterson, will be donned with twinkling lights and festively colored decorations. The Perkiomen Jazz Choir, the Perkiomen Brass Ensemble and the Trinity Reformed Church UCC Choir will entertain those awaiting the lighting. Fun will be had by all as the crowd "karaoke karols" until Santa arrives for photos in a winter sleigh. Green hot chocolate, donated by the Irish Shop and cookies donated by Columbia Cottage will warm and fill children's tummies. The evening will be topped off with a raffle of prizes donated by local businesses.

"None of this would be possible without all of the Main Street businesses that came together to sponsor the event and to donate raffle prizes. This is truly a community tree lighting.", said Renee Blomstrom, Promotions Committee member and Public Relations Director for the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce   Thanks goes to: Trans-Fleet Concrete, DaVinci's Pub, Executive Protective Services, TR Insurance, Keenan, Ciccitto and Associates, Meridian Bank, Larry Hoak State Farm Insurance, Schrader's Service Station, SmoKings, Trinity Reformed Church UCC, Roger Tolley, DDS, Whitby Jewelers, Greenwald Flower and Plant Workshop. Special thanks goes out to the Collegeville Fire Company, The Collegeville Rotary Club and the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce for their assistance.
