Presentation of Survey Results
Collegeville Downtown Revitalization Study

The public is invited to a presentation of the results of a community-wide survey that concluded in November. JGSC Group of Merchantville, NJ will present the results of the downtown revitalization preferences survey on Tuesday, January 25th, at 6:30 p.m. in Bomberger Auditorium on the Ursinus College campus. The survey was part of a Community InsightsSM study being conducted for the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation.

The survey was offered in printed form at downtown stores and was available online, as well. A total of 1,961 residents, shoppers and visitors participated in the survey, providing their opinions and preferences for the revitalization of the Main Street district in Collegeville. A special version of the survey was offered to Ursinus College students, who contributed 570 responses to the total.

"We're proud to know that so many people cared to share their likes, dislikes, and visions for Main Street, and I'm looking forward to hearing what they had to tell us." said Linda Flederbach, Manager of the Collegeville Main Street Program. "Our next steps will clearly be guided by a consensus of the people of our community."

JGSC will next devote their attention to the preparation of a final report. It will be a compilation of all of the syndicated data, district assessments, merchant and stakeholder interviews, and consumer preferences, together with analysis and insights of their significance. The report will include strategic recommendations for the revitalization of downtown Collegeville in a way that will enable the sustainable components of the community's vision to be realized.

JGSC Group specializes in the analysis, assessment and improvement of retail economies in shopping districts and downtowns. They were selected as a result of a competitive bid process based on a RFP issued by the Collegeville Main Street in 2009. Funding has been provided, in part, by grants from the Borough of Collegeville and Ursinus College.
