The structure of the Main Street program revolves around four volunteer committees -- Organization, Promotion, Design, and Economic Restructuring – that have developed important goals and reached key objectives designed to make our Main Street area more attractive to residents and visitors as well as more economically viable for local businesses.

Design
Committee
The goal of the Design Committee is to get Main Street into top physical shape. Capitalizing on its best assets - such as historic buildings and traditional downtown layout is just part of the story. An inviting atmosphere created through attractive window displays, accessible parking areas, professional signage, well maintained sidewalks, appropriate street-lights, and inviting landscaping conveys a visual message about what Collegeville Main Street is and what it has to offer.
The committee will be administering the Façade Challenge Grant Program in the near future.  This program will enable property and business owners located within the designated Main Street District to receive up to $5000 to make improvements such as painting, installing new signs, or replacing windows.
The committee, chaired by Debbie Riegner, meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm at the Main Street office.

Pedestrian Safety Project
(Sub-Committee of Design)
The goal of the Pedestrian Safety Project committee is to address pedestrian safety issues in the designated Main Street District and near the community park.  The committee will focus on crosswalk safety, lighting, signage and other identified areas of concern.
The committee meets the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm at the Main Street office.

Promotion
Committee

The goal of the Promotions Committee is to sell the image and promise of Main Street to all prospects. By marketing the downtown’s unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new businesses, and visitors, an effective promotion strategy forges a positive image through advertising, retail promotional activity, special events, and marketing campaigns.
The Committee is chaired by Jenny Greenwald and meets the first Tuesday of each month at 8:30 AM at the Main Street office.

Economic Restructuring Committee
The goal of the Economic Restructuring Committee is to find new purposes for Main Street's enterprises. By helping existing downtown businesses expand and recruiting new ones to respond to today's market, the Collegeville Main Street program helps convert unused space into productive property and sharpen the competitiveness of business enterprises.  In addition, committee helps to identify financial opportunities and tax incentives that are available from the county and the state.
The committee, chaired by Brian Dubas, meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Main Street office

Organization Committee
The goal of the Organization Committee is to get everyone working toward the same goal.  They work on building consensus and cooperation among the groups that have an important stake in the downtown area.  They work to strengthen the organization by attracting volunteers and fundraising so that tasks can be accomplished.
The committee, chaired by Pete Scattergood, meets the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 am at the Main Street office.
