Golden Brush Award
The
Collegeville Main Street Program (CMSP) Design Committee honored
Frank Sautner and Vince Giancaterino of DaVinci’s Pub with the Golden Brush award on Tuesday, December
15th at their monthly Board of Director’s meeting. This
is the second time that a Collegeville Main Street business has
been presented the award.
The
Golden Brush award was developed by the CMSP Design Committee to
acknowledge those who have done an exceptional job in maintaining,
renovating, or updating their Main Street Property. Debbie
Riegner, chair of the Design Committee explained that DaVinci’s
Pub was chosen for several reasons, “Frank and Vince have
done a wonderful job maintaining the improvements that were previously
made. The landscaping is always attractive and the outside
lighting and advertising help to draw people to the street.”
Cindy
Whitby, owner of Whitby Jewelers and Design Committee member added
that DaVinci’s Pub is a highly visible business on Main Street. “DaVinci’s
is the first business one sees upon entering Collegeville. The
property maintenance is reflective of their support of the Main
Street revitalization initiative.”
Recipients
of the Golden Brush Award receive a gold brush to be displayed
prominently for others to see. A removable sign is also placed
in front of their property announcing that they are winners of
the award. The sign has encouraged people to stop in and
inquire about the award as well as extend congratulations.
The Design Committee is looking forward to awarding grants
to property owners within the identified Main Street district once
funding is received from the Pennsylvania Department of Community
and Economic Development. This grant money will spur interest
in improving properties and assist in the costs associated with
enhancements.
