The Berman Art Museum Invites its Neighbors—All Collegeville Area Community Residents–to a Reception for the Opening of “Good Neighbors” on Thursday, Oct. 23rd from 4 to 7 p.m.
NOTE: The exhibit opens Oct. 14th; the reception will be held Oct. 23rd
The Berman Museum of Art is once again extending a warm welcome to the Collegeville Community to celebrate the opening of their new exhibition, “Good Neighbors.” From 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 23rd, enjoy beer, wine, soft drinks and appetizers while meeting the artists and enjoying the exhibition.
Good Neighbors takes as its starting point the many possible notions of home and community–from memories of a particular place or object, to gatherings of like-minded individuals, to the unexpected juxtapositions that come from living in close proximity. The art on view touches on universal themes of family, intimacy, nostalgia, and domesticity, making the project at its core about the common ground between audiences and the artists who are their neighbors.
Featured are works by Ursinus faculty members Cari Freno, Kay Healy and Sarah Kaufman alongside eight additional Philadelphia artists, highlighting our area’s open, vibrant artistic community.
This free exhibit runs from Oct. 14, 2014 until Jan. 11, 2015. The Berman Museum of Art, which is regarded as one of the nation’s finest small college art museums, is located on the Ursinus College campus and is open from Tues through Fri from 10 to 4 p.m., Sat & Sun noon to 4 p.m. For more information call 610 409 3500 or visit http://www.ursinus.edu/berman
